Thank you for considering a donation to Suit Yourself-

Wardrobe for Women Association.

Due to the volume of clothing and accessories being offered to Suit Yourself, please ensure that you are following our donation guidelines. 

Donation Guidelines

  1. All business wear MUST BE on hangers — this enables the donation appointment to progress quickly and safely.

  2. If you require wire hangers for your items, please advise us when you book your appointment, so that we can have them available for you to pick up in advance.

  3. All items must be laundered and free from damage.

  4. Please refer to the current season of clothing items we are accepting, prior to booking an appointment.

  5. Items should be less than five years old.  In order to offer clients with current styles that have a professional or classic business look that they can wear immediately.

  6. Suit Yourself does not accept donations of Men’s business wear.

Items Acceptable For Donation

Suit Yourself accepts new and gently loved items suitable for the workplace, such as:

  • Suits (both pant and skirt)

  • Jackets, blazers and cardigans

  • Dress pants

  • Office appropriate skirts and dresses

  • Shirts/blouses

  • Camisoles and bras

  • Dress shoes and boots

  • Jewelry and accessories

  • Outerwear (dress coats and jackets)

Toiletry Items and Cosmetics

The following items must be new

  • Unused make up and skin products

  • Hair products and accessories

  • Women’s perfume

  • Women's toiletries (toothpaste, tooth brush, deodorant, bar soap, shampoo conditioner, body lotions, etc.)

Any items unable to be used during the sorting and preparation for the suiting floor, will be re-donated to the Bissell Centre, Edmonton.

At the end of the season, some items may be directed to seasonal sales or consignment where 100% of the proceeds support the ongoing operations of Suit Yourself.

Retailers

Donations from retailers of new clothing are eligible to receive a tax receipt for the wholesale cost of the items, as per Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.  Please contact us for further information and to ensure that we are able to accept the donation.

Tax Receipts

Tax receipts to individuals can only be issued for new, unworn items with tags and a receipt from the retailer.
